Who is an XIP? Xi is an acronym for eXtra intelligence. People that are extra intelligent (simply called XIP, eXtra Intelligent Person) have characteristic qualities, that differ significantly from people that have a 'normal' or average intelligence. Quite often the XIP is not aware of his/her uncommon intelligence. If you recognize yourself, or someone you know, strongly in the description of three or more of five characteristic qualities, then we consider this to be a sufficient and practical starting point for a worthwhile investigation of the nature and practicability of your (or someone else's) uncommon intelligence. It is up to you whether you want to know and to accept that your are extra intelligent. If you are, it is obviously advantageous to be aware of it. Even if your biograpy is not the success story that most people associate with giftedness. Please note that there are XIPs, that can not at all identify with the idea of being (even extra) intelligent, due to negative experiences at school or other circumstances. How to deal with being an exception Approximately 30% of all XIPs are natural born Superstars. One would assume that the other 70% XIPs would enjoy uncommon success and a graceful deployment of their talents, but in fact this occurs often not visible, or even not at all. If the characteristic qualities of XIPs like Intensity, Complexity and Drive are not appreciated at school or university, they turn sour and this can lead to a denial or hiding of their talents, to perfectionism and/or fear of failure. This coping behavior becomes their normal strategy in career and work and effectively put the brake on their personal development. By aiming for recognition and optimal use of one's own Xi, it is possible to overcome stagnation and ineffective behavior. |
